Frank Carlow, Carlow & Carlow

 

Frank is a Director of Carlow and Carlow, a Consulting/Advisory business and investment vehicle. Through the Consulting/Advisory arm, Frank specialises in working with progressive professional services organisations in the Engineering, Architecture and Construction industry, helping them achieve their business vision and goals.

Frank’s an electrician by trade, a Chartered Engineer by profession and has spent the last 15 years in executive leadership roles. He’s a member of Consult Australia’s Queensland Committee and has a particular interest in giving SME’s a voice calling on his extensive experience in roles with Small, Medium and Large Consultancy Practices prior to running his own business.

As chair of the STAR PMCA Board of Advisors Frank works hand in hand with the STAR PMCA Managing Director and Board of Advisors members to guide STAR PMCA and the management team through business formation, development and growth providing direction, support and know-how contextualized to the needs of STAR PMCA in line with its value proposition.

Lara Schinkler, Advisory Board, CPEM Consulting

Lara Schinkler, CPEM Consulting Group

 

Lara Schinkler is the Managing Director of CPEM Consulting Group. She is a specialist in the fields of leadership development and executive coaching, behavioural change, team development, and change management. With 20+ years' experience, Lara's practical approach means she is as comfortable and effective in the boardroom as she is delivering skills-based training to teams on-site.  As a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors, Lara is acutely aware of the pressures that Directors and Senior Executives face. 

Lara has worked in Human Resource roles in management, operational, consulting, facilitation and business ownership levels across a range of industry sectors including local and state government, universities, mining & energy, engineering & construction, manufacturing, sales, professional services, health, and not-for-profit organisations. Lara's style is a unique combination of exacting acumen with a vibrant and agile approach that delivers measurable results.

Ben Warren, Ellem Warren Lawyers

 

Ben Warren is a principal of Ellem Warren Lawyers, having previously been a partner in Praeger Ellem Solicitors, and an Associate with Shand Taylor Lawyers.

Ben leads the Dispute Resolution, and Employment and Workplace sections of the firm. He has over 22 years of private-practice experience, including over 20 years in Brisbane CBD firms, and is one of only approx. 35 lawyers (of more than 13,000 in Queensland) accredited by the Queensland Law Society as a specialist in commercial litigation.

Ben is passionate about really getting to know a client and its business, planning risk mitigation strategies and early intervention. He strives to give clients the luxury of choosing when and how to engage with the legal system - strategically - rather than being “swept up” in it against the client’s will. Ben Warren has particular expertise in building and construction disputes, ranging in value between $20k and $90million, including design vs. construct disputes, scope disputes, and with particular expertise in the use of the Security of Payments legislation across QLD, NSW and WA.

Kathryn Koch, Anything but Ordinary

 

Kathryn is the Director of Anything but Ordinary, a B2B marketing consultancy. She specialises in helping professional services and other service-based organisations, teams and people build their brand, awareness and trusted partner relationships in their target market to drive client acquisition and retention.

With more than 20 years’ experience in services marketing for organisations including the University of Queensland, Urbis, DMA Engineers, AECOM, and the Port of Brisbane Corporation, Kathryn works with clients from Fortune 500 firms to small consulting practices to implement programs to support sales culture change, build their brand, and develop client-centric marketing and thought leadership strategies.

David Wing, Dixon Capital

 

David is a qualified Solicitor and Certified Practising Accountant as well as a Fellow of the Taxation Institute of Australia and a Senior Fellow of the Financial Services Institute of Australia.

With over 28 years’ experience in corporate finance and as an advisor and arranger of development and investment capital, David specialises in delivering successful capital solutions in the areas of property, construction and infrastructure particularly for not-for-profit organisations and educational institutions. His particular strength is large-scale or complex projects involving diverse stakeholder groups and interaction with all levels of Government and associated agencies and Departments.
